STEP 4
Using picture as a guide
(see above), draw 2 ear shapes
on yellow felt and a nose shape on
brown felt. Cut out shapes and glue
in place. To make a mouth, bend pipe
cleaner into a W shape and glue under
nose. U se black m arker pen to add
eyebrows and spots to cheeks. Glue a
few lengths of raffia under n ose to
resemble whiskers. Let dry. Then you’re
ready to hunt for goodies!
Flower power
You don’t have to be born in the '6 0 s
to make this little gem.
GATHER YOUR SUPPLIES
Plastic eye mask; A 4 sheet yellow felt;
scraps of green felt; scraps of brown felt;
marker pen; scissors; sparkly beads; hot
glue gun; 2 x large green pipe-cleaners
HERE’S HOW
STEP 1
Using picture as a guide (see
left), cut out 2 4 petals from yellow felt
and 2 leaves from green felt. Cut out
2 circles from brown felt, place eye
mask on top, then trace eyeholes onto
felt and cut out to make rings.
STEP 2
With an adult's help, use hot
glue gun to attach brown rings over
eyeholes. G lue petals in a circular
pattern around each eye, and glue a ring
of beads around each eye hole. Let dry.
STEP 3
Turn over m ask and glue a
green pipe cleaner on each side for
handle stem s. Glue leaves on stem s,
allow to dry and you're ready to bloom.
Owl mask
You'll have a hoot m aking this
project. You could easily create a
few and have a family of owls.
GATHER YOUR SUPPLIES
Plastic eye m ask: m arker pen;
scisso rs; craft glue; paintbrush;
assorted feathers; A 4 scrap s of
brown felt; A 4 sheet of yellow felt
HERE’S HOW
STEP 1
Brush front of m ask with
glue and stick on feathers, the
thicker the better.
STEP 2
Using picture as a guide,
on brown felt, draw 2 large circles
with the centres big enough to
clear mask eye holes. Cut out holes
for eyes and glue rings onto mask.
Repeat this step with yellow felt
rings, just a little smaller. Cut out
and glue in place a yellow felt beak.
STEP 3
Glue a few bigger feathers
above eyes to create heavy brows
and keep your owl looking wise.

HERE’S HOW
STEP 1
In a well-ventilated area, put
dow n new spaper and spray front of
m ask yellow. Very lightly spray orange
over the top. Let dry.
STEP 2
Put m ask on cardboard and
trace around it. Then draw another line
abou t 3cm out from first. C ut out
to create a ring. With the help
of an adult, use hot
glue gun to run a

line of glue
along ring,
then stick
to back
edge of
m a s k .
Let dry.
STEP 3
Using
sc isso rs,
cut lengths of
raffia and glue
all around edge
of ring to resemble
a mane. Let dry.
